“My Lover spoke to me and said, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one and come away with me. See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come” (Song of Solomon). This verse represents the heart of the Lord for His Bride throughout the ages. The heart of the Lord is for the widows, who have endured and suffered great pain and great rejection in India.
Amongst the poor, it is a common belief that when a 13 to 20’s year old Girl is widowed she is considered an outcast. A curse placed on her, and she is often rejected by her family and society. She is forced to endure great ridicule and shame from her family and from others. Often times, in the villages, she is forced to live outside the village and away from her family. Her value and her worth is gone. It is not uncommon to encounter widows in their teens. All hope of a bright future is shattered for them.
Jesus’s heart is to restore the widows, both young and old. To bring them into His Kingdom of love, acceptance, and worth. We want to join our hearts with His by extend His love to them. Our vision is to establish a training center for young widows.
The training center would provide widows opportunities to learn different skills so that they could earn a living. We would provide training in different skills such as, tailoring, beautician courses, reading, and writing. Not only do we want to provide them with training, but we want to offer bible studies and give them the opportunity to know who Christ is and who they are in Him. We want to provide an atmosphere of unconditional love and acceptance.
